CountryGermany ClubHamburg PositionStriker Born06 January 2000 **** Arp is perhaps the hottest prospect in German football and received the golden Fritz-Walter-Medal from the German FA as the best under-17 talent in 2017 – an accolade that has been won by Mario Götze, Emre Can and Leon Goretzka. Arp scored 26 golas in 21 games for Hamburg’s under-17s last season and his role model is Tottenham’s Harry Kane. “He plays the way I want to play. He’s pacy and very comfortable with and without the ball,” said Arp, a tall, strong striker who always gets into the right positions and can find the net from anywhere if given an inch. Hamburg will have to work hard to keep Arp amid interest from top clubs in Europe, including Chelsea. **[Michael Reis](https://twitter.com/donreisino?lang=en)** **October 2018 update** In September 2017 he became the first player born in the 2000s to play in the Bundesliga and scored in his next game. A move to Bayern looked likely but he signed a new deal with Hamburg, who were relegated to the 2. Bundesliga. Has struggled to get into the team at the start of the 2018-19 season. **October 2019 update** In and out of the Hamburg team he made 17 league appearances as they finished fourth and finally got his move to Bayern, for around €3m, in the summer. Had a difficult start at Bayern though and was at the time of writing nowhere near the first-team squad despite some good performances in pre-season. **October 2020 update** A season to forget for the youngster as injuries restricted him to 12 appearances for the reserves in the 3. Liga. Appears nowhere nearer the first-team picture at the time of writing. **October 2021 update** Made his debut for Bayern in the cup but spent the rest of the season with the reserves. Has now been sent on loan to Holsten Kiel in the second division, where he is playing regularly. “All the praise I got early in my career probably didn’t help me. Do I still think I have a career at Bayern? Yes, but it is all down to me,” he said this year. **September 2022 update** Has joined Holsten Kiel on a permanent deal after his contract with Bayern was terminated. “I felt incredibly comfortable here. That’s why it wasn’t a difficult decision for me to continue on KSV’s path,” he said.
