Still an experienced, positionally astute center-back who reads the game shrewdly and rarely makes calamitous errors. The athleticism has visibly diminished; he's no longer quick enough to cover for fullbacks pressed high, and he can be exposed by genuinely explosive strikers. A squad player now, useful in specific matchups and for his leadership, but well past the point where he's a reliable starter at an elite club.
